Fitting the seat panel with added speakers.
Today 21st July 2019 we wired up the remaining 3x rear speakers to the radio/CD player. (Picture above) They are now all working fine. We also added a large VW sticker to brighten up a plain rear panel.
Today, 23rd July 2019 we added a fan to the dash and the rear. Ideal to keep the van cool when stationary on site. The wiring goes through the surface so as no wires are visible. This will run off auxiliary power which we will fit soon.
Today 26th July 2019 we fitted a leisure battery and all the wiring. So everything gets wired through the leisure battery. What happens is this. When the engine is running, the vehicle will charge the main battery. Once that is charged, it will flip over and charge the leisure battery. This way, you can have the radio, CB radio, fans, lights etc on and the power will all come from the leisure battery. Hence the van will always start as the main battery is never touched.
Today, 1st August 2019 we wired in a fuse box from the leisure battery. We will connect this to the wall etc later. We also wired up the interior fans.
Today 2nd August 2019 we fitted a volt gauge. It works fine although but because of the lights, the camera will not photograph it properly. It uses 0.02amp of power, so will stay on permanently and not drain the battery. It tells you how much power is in the leisure battery. If it ever gets too low, just start the engine up for a short while, and put a full charge back in the leisure battery.
